Sources, Standards & Methodology
Hommos.co.uk aims to be a useful, transparent reference resource. We distinguish established culinary knowledge from claims that are uncertain, disputed or difficult to substantiate.
How we research
We prioritise primary sources, official organisations, established reference works, current restaurant and food-business websites, recognised food publications and authoritative technical documentation. Where evidence is incomplete, historical claims are written cautiously rather than presented as certainty.
Food, nutrition & terminology
Recipe and ingredient information is checked against established culinary references and current menus where appropriate. Nutrition information is general information, not medical advice, and should be checked against authoritative food-composition data when precision matters.
Terminology pages distinguish common English variants from the terminology used by this site. The existence of multiple spellings is acknowledged rather than hidden.
Search, structured data & AI features
Our technical SEO approach follows Google Search Central's current guidance. Google states that the same core SEO principles apply to its AI features, with no separate “AI optimisation” requirement. We therefore focus on crawlability, useful content, clear page structure, internal linking, strong images and accurate structured data.
Recipe structured data follows Google's Recipe documentation and Schema.org's Recipe vocabulary. Structured data is only used where it accurately represents visible page content.

Terminology references
For spelling and terminology research, we also consult established dictionaries and terminology databases where relevant. The aim is to document usage accurately rather than manufacture certainty where sources disagree.
Restaurant selection methodology
Our restaurant guides are editorial selections, not exhaustive directories. Inclusion is based on factors such as Lebanese culinary identity, reputation, longevity or distinctiveness, current evidence of operation, quality of the restaurant's public information and relevance to the subject of Hommos. Listings are not paid placements unless explicitly labelled as such.
Corrections & updates
Restaurant menus, opening hours and business details can change. Historical and culinary information can also be refined as better sources become available. If you spot a factual error or an outdated business detail, please contact us.
